There are people who walk into a room and change its temperature.
Not because they’re loud or commanding—but because their energy is pure light. That’s Jax.

When I first met Jax Isemann, I was a brand-new planner wandering through Graysolon Ballroom, probably wide-eyed and nervous. She greeted me like an old friend, and from that day forward, she’s been part of my story.

Jax is the Sales Director at Graysolon Ballroom by Blackwoods—but that title doesn’t even begin to cover what she does. She’s a connector, a caretaker, a storyteller, and truly the soul of one of Duluth’s most iconic wedding venues. For nearly two decades, she’s been helping couples and families create moments that live forever, not just in photos, but in feeling.

We sat down to talk about how she found her way into this work, what it means to create authentic experiences, and what weddings have taught her—especially now that both of her own children are married. It was one of those conversations that fills your cup to the brim and spills over a little, too.
